Coeliac disease is caused by an adverse auto-immune reaction to gluten, which is a dietary protein found in wheat, barley and rye.
1 in 100 people suffer from coeliac disease and the only treatment is to follow a gluten-free diet to control symptoms and prevent long-term complications of the condition.
